CASTELLO DI TABIANO
Il Castello e il Borgo di Tabiano sono situati in posizione dominante sulle prime colline che sovrastano la Pianura Padana, con un panorama unico che spazia dall’Appennino fino alla catena alpina. Si trovano a pochi minuti dalle celebri Terme di Salsomaggiore e di Tabiano.
Il Castello è uno dei più importanti monumenti di difesa dell’epoca feudale nell’Alta Emilia. Sorto all’inizio dell’XI secolo su di un antico insediamento romano, fu uno dei fondamentali presidi dei Marchesi Pallavicino per il controllo della Via Francigena e dei pozzi di sale della zona.
Visita: Il percorso di circa 40 minuti attraversa i luoghi più interessanti del Castello, le antiche cantine a volta con le grandi botti di rovere, i saloni affrescati, la sala da ballo, la sala degli stemmi, la biblioteca di famiglia, la Cappella privata, lo scalone d’onore, le terrazze, i giardini, la ‘Porta rossa’.

The Castle is one of the most important defense monuments of the feudal era in Upper Emilia. Built at the beginning of the 11th century on an ancient Roman settlement, it was one of the fundamental garrisons of the Pallavicino Marquises for the control of the Via Francigena and the salt wells in the area.
